In the next four months, I plan to buy building materials which I will use in building a new house. The one I have is grass thatched and I would want to improve to the iron-roofed house now that I still get transfers from GD.

I got married three years ago and my husband died before he could not get his land inheritance from his parents. As a result, I did not get any land inheritance on his behalf. I have had to find how I will do my farming. Since I did not have any good and stable economic income, I was not able to buy my own land. I only had a piece of land where we built our house. My desire to do farming was undermined in this area. With GD transfers, I was able to lease land which I have been doing my farming for the past two years. As a result, I have always had food in the house and whenever I am in a financial crisis, I do sell part of my harvest to raise money. I have started saving so that I can now buy the land permanently.

In the six months, I plan to buy new household items such as seats and utensils after building the new house. The ones I have are old because they have lasted three years now. They are the ones I had at the time I got married. I feel its time I have new ones. Therefore, after building the house, I will save my monthly transfers so that I may be able to buy new items and make the whole house new.

My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I was able to farm like my neighbours. In the past, I was not able to farm because I did not have any land to do farming. My husband died before he was given his inheritance. I was forced to have to the land I have where I have built my house. I have desired to do farming juslike any other person but because of my low income, I was not able to even lease land for farming. Thanks to GD I was able to farm because I used the transfers to lease in a piece of land. This was very fulfilling because I don't have to struggle as I used to.

I have a new goal of buying new household items such as sofa set. This is because anytime I have visitors at my house, I have always had to borrow seats from my neighbours which has been very shameful. They have always been looking down on me because of this.

I have been living a grass thatched house for the last two years which is in a very bad condition. I have been feeling ashamed of it because many other friends have iron-roofed houses. I have been feeling the poorest because I was not able to put up a new house. This is because I depend on my small income from grocery business which is not much and my husband passed on two years ago leaving me with all the responsibilities. Receiving these transfers gave me new hope because I was able to buy iron sheets which I will use in putting up a new house of my preference.

I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will be having a new house which I have always wanted to have. This is because I will use my transfers to continue buying building materials such as nails and timber which I still do not have. This will help me in building a new, bigger and better iron-roofed.

The greatest challenge in my life has always been owning land. I am among the unlucky people who didn't get to inherit land from their great grandparents. We have a very small area of land. After building the house we are living in currently we were left with no space at all. Not even a playground for the kids to play in. I even don't have a backyard to plant a few plants. This means I never practice farming at all. When people were harvesting sacks of the crops they had planted I would wait until they were ready to be sold, which was more expensive compared to if I had planted on my farm. I'm happy to say that since GD started sending me money I have been able to lease a piece of land where I have planted corn and I'm hoping for an improved harvest.

I'm currently cooking in a kitchen which is in a very bad state. My sheep normally sleeps in this kitchen which makes it even the worst place to cook in. Since I don't have a separate structure to keep my sheep and cook in the other I am always forced to bear with the conditions. It always worse and more challenging whenever it rains. Therefore for the next four months of my life, I have a goal of saving some of the monthly income I get from GiveDirectly so that I can use it to purchase building materials and help me construct a new kitchen.

I must say that life has been bearable in the last four months despite the harsh economic times. Recently the prices of corn went up. I didn't feel much pressure not because I had enough stock but because GiveDirectly boosted my income. I have been able to comfortably meet the daily needs of the family because of the support I get from this organization. I am planning to save and invest some of this money so that I will be able to still handle such economic times in the future after this organization has left.

In the next six months of my life, I expect to have saved enough money and constructed a kitchen. Currently, this is my first priority because of the mess I am already in. With the sheep in the same room where I cook makes it unbearable. Food is one of the most delicate things to handle. This situation messes up with the hygiene of the area I do my cooking which would risk our health and life in general. Cleaning the area on a daily basis considering how far the water point makes life more difficult. That is why I couldn't think of something else first before making sure I had a separate structure to cook in.

Four months ago, I was struggling a lot with my business and it would collapse from time to time due to lack of money for more stock. With these transfers, this has never been the case again. Whenever I go low on stock I normally use the money I receive to bring it back up by adding more stock.

My biggest goal right now is to construct a separate guest house for my visitors because my house is too small. I will take a loan from our table banking group to help me achieve this as soon as possible.

The evident difference in my daily life is how well I feed because I am able to afford better meals. This is owed to the fact that my business is doing better because these transfers have helped me boost it whenever it is going under.

I want to use these transfers to purchase basic household items such as utensils. I have had a big problem in the past whenever I have visitors having to borrow from my neighbours. It is quite an embarrassing site I would like to change it.

My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I managed to lease land for agricultural purposes easily hence it was not taken away as planned before.

My new goal is to buy more seats so as to avoid borrowing whenever I have more visitor.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that, I was able to save money and buy iron sheets hence just hoping to build a kitchen.

I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have been in a position of buying all the things that I want like utensils and seats. I will be able to met the desires of my heart.

My new goals currently involve building a new kitchen, buying a cow and then finally buying a blanket for myself.

The biggest difference in my life is that I was able to buy maize flour. my business recently collapsed, something that became so detrimental to me.
