What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have lot of children that I need to support in school and I also need to shelter. My children's father dashed them on me and abandoned the entire family. When I receive my recent transfer from Givedirectly, I used portion of it to buy three bundles of zinc because I want to build a big and comfortable house for me and my family. Part of the remaining portion of the transfer is also being used for my children's education to give them a better future. The remaining portion of the transfer, used it for feeding to keep my family happy and healthy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
My children's father dashed them on me and abandoned the entire family. I am the only person struggling with the children without support from anywhere. With the help of Givedirectly, I am able to send all of them to school to have a better future and build a house to stay in the future. I just want to tell GiveDirectly thank you for such great unexpected help. Therefore, with this great help, my life has changed positively.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have lot of children that I need to support in school and I also shelter. I am living in my brother's house with my children. I have been planning to build my own house and send my son to school but there is no money. I have used my previous transfers to buy the materials needed to build my future house. I am waiting for my last transfer to start my project because I need a better and spacious future house for the comfort of my family and I.

My house is not in a good condition. The roof is tarsh and rats live in it. The rats feed on the tarsh and put holes all in it.During the rainy season it leaks. I planned to buy zinc to build a new house.I also want to buy a new mattress because the one I sleep on is old. GiveDirectly has done so much for me. I'm overly excited for this program.Now my life is about to change for the better. I'm so excited and I'm thankful for what they are doing. My life is about to get better. I'm so grateful.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion since GiveDirectly came in this Town, I've not seen anything bad they have done. My living condition has been very bad. During rainy season we suffer because of the leakages on the roof of the house. They are even helping us so much and we are grateful for that. I'm so excited.It's just that they don't accept our gifts but we are grateful. I don't think they are doing anything unwell.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have no new goals.The house I live in is very old. Since it was built I didn't have money to plaster it.During rainy season the mud falls off the house. My primary goal is to build a new house. I also planned to buy a new mattress. I'm extremely excited that GiveDirectly has come to my village and I'm grateful to God that I got enrolled on the program. Now my life will get better. I wont have to live in a house that is leaking. I will now live a new life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My greatest challenge now is paying my four children tuition, because I'm a single mother who husband have abandoned me and the children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Nothing absloutely.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will use the money to build a decent and bigger house that can accommodate i and my children that can't stay with me now because of the little house I'm in now.
