Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start up a retail and wholesale store for selling various commodities to both walk-in customers and traders. In the next few weeks, I would have harvested the crops which I had planted with the first transfers I got from Give Directly's. I am planning to use the money I will get from the farm and combing with the remaining portion of my next three months transfers and spend the whole amount to start up the store. I also run a second-hand clothes business which I operate on the open-air market moving from one centre to the another during market days. I will continue with this business while the shop I intend to start up will be managed by my wife along with a few other staff that I plan to hire. I feel good because I will have created employment to a few youths and my wife too.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, I invested part of my transfer on farming. I thought of investing in farming because I was sure that from it I would get enough profit to start up a new business. I managed to plant some onions and tomatoes which are almost ready for harvesting. I believe I will be able to get a good amount of money because these crops do well within my area. I know my life won't remain the same once all these projects become successful.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months would have started operating the new business which I intend to start. This will enable me to earn more since I will be having more sources to earn from. The profit which I will make from these businesses will enable me to buy a piece of land. We presently have a small portion which I inherited from my parents. This is not enough to fulfil my dream of doing large scale farming. I feel good and have hopes of expanding my farming activities.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I no longer buy milk daily. This has been possible as I was able to acquire a dairy cow using the savings I was given in our table banking group. Due to this, I have been able to save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk since the cow I bought has already started reproducing. In addition to this, I have been earning an income through the sale of milk to my neighbors.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal in my life for the next four months is to expand my business of selling clothes. I have been moving from one market to another and adding more stock will allow my customers to have a wide range of items to choose from depending on their taste and preferences.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that my family now lives happily. This is because I have been able to finish building a spacious house for them. The house we were previously living in was small and could not accommodate all of us comfortably and we also used to lack our privacy as parents. Living in my newly built house always thrills my heart.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my life will have changed in that my business empire will have grown. Due to this, the profits I will be getting from the business will have increased. I will be using these profits to pay school fees for my children since I am planning to transfer them to a private school.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I now own a cow and a goat which I did not have before. Owning these fowls was a dream come true. I don't think I would have manged to buy them through the money I get from the casual jobs I do since it is too little to even feed our family leave alone buying a goat. With the help of GiveDirectly I now have hope that in the next one year, I will not be buying milk anymore. Instead I will sell some in order to boost my income and help me meet my goals and needs like paying school fees for my children.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to start a business. I am thinking of something that will sustain me for a longer period of time. I thought of selling second hand clothes. I have been doing this work for some one else and I know that it has good profits as long as I strategically put my shop and bring nice quality clothes for my customer to buy. It is not easy but it is better than only depending on casual jobs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that my heart is always at peace and stress free. I now live in a more decent house. The previous one was in a bad state. The roof used to leak whenever it rained and the walls had become so weak and could collapse any time. We used to squeeze ourselves in that small house but that did not last long before we moved to a more decent house which I have been building using part of my transfers. My family now lives in an iron sheet roofed house. I was able to use my last transfers to buy these iron sheets and and I always pray asking God to continue blessing GiveDirectly whenever I am sleeping.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have started my new business. I have already saved enough money on merry go round group since I started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly. I want to start a business so that I can have divergent sources of income which will help me achieve my goals. My sincere gratitude goes to GiveDirectly for giving me capital to start a business I never thought I would one day run.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we are currently facing is trying recover business stock ( mitumba) that was stolen from us. Getting to the level where we had been financially/ business wise has proven to be quite a challenge.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is the time I get to analyse my business stock and consider the kind of effort I need to invest in my business so as to generate more income.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I will use the transfer to build a better house. I would like to improve my house because the one we are currently living in is a bit small and especially the kitchen is old.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is that my wife and I have worked extra hard in our mitumba business. We did use the business proceeds to buy a piece of land where we live now.
