How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The great difference in my life is that now I am stress-free since I was able to pay school fees for my children. My health has really improved and I am now happier than ever before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD does very well by considering women to be the majority of the recipient since they can budget for the whole family, unlike men.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
The second transfer which I received from GD, I spent KES 27000 to pay school fees for my child in university, KES 4000 on buying maize for consumption, bought a young bull KES 11000, and KES 11000 to pay school fees for my children in high school.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we have faced in our lives is that of lack of enough funds to pay school fees for our children. As we speak we have one of our children who had to drop out of school for one year because of lack of money to pay her school fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I wake up strong and healthy. I am particularly happy when I have provided my children with all that they require to facilitate their smooth learning in school.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Currently we have a burden of paying huge school fee balances for our children. It has been a struggle to accomplish other things with the little income that we get from our casual jobs. Receiving this money would ease the burden of paying school fees. We will also have some extra money to engage in better farming practices to increase our yield and increase the level of income.
