Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am now very happy because my plans of building a permanent house have come true. With this cash transfer, I was in position to purchase building materials for my permanent house. Currently, I am still occupying a leaking thatched house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I felt very happy because I was one of those who benefited from GiveDirectly program.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for purchasing building materials ( 2 trips of bricks, 2 trips of sand) worth UGX 760,000 and bought clothing worth UGX 50,000. I have not yet spent UGX 950,000 but I plan to use it for buying iron sheets.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to improve my srandard of living. I will build a better house for my self since the one that I have is grass thatched which even leaks. I also hope to start up a poultry farm that can support me in future. I will be able to sell off some birds incase of some eventualities that may arise. With this, my life will never remain the same.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the morning when I pray to my God. I feel I can not do without prayer because it is a part of my life. It is my weapon and I believe everything is possible with prayer.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money to do the things that I would like to do. I don't have any income generating activity with which to raise money that I can use to improve my standard of living. I would have loved a situation where I am able to earn some money at the end of every month but this has not been made possible. Life is just hard for me.
