What did you spend your third transfer on?
I had constructed a new house using my second transfer, but I did not complete it. My previous house was very old and was almost collapsing after my husband passed on and there was no one to help me build a new one until GiveDirectly came along, so when I received my third transfer I completed it using part of the money. Using some money too, I constructed a kitchen where I can cook from as previously my old house doubled up as a cooking place and the smoke could destroy the house so fast. I also bought a sack of corn for my family consumes given that during those times there was hunger, and we could not get enough to eat. I have a sister who most of the time could help me given that I am a widow, so I gave her 5000 KES out of the transfer to help her in clearing school fees for her daughter who, is in secondary school. The remaining amount I spent on food and clothing for my children. I am grateful for the money I received from GiveDirectly and I commend whoever thought of giving unconditional cash to the less fortunate like me. Thank you GiveDirectly and May God bless you!!
