How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Things have not been so well with me. Our house has been in a bad condition. The roof has holes in it. During rainy season it leaks. For some time now I have been sick. My goal has been to see myself healthy and strong. I was overwhelmed when I received my payment. I used some of my money towards my health expenses. I also bought some other food items. Hopefully after receiving treatments things will improve for the best.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It has changed our lives for the best. We are so grateful for this amazing opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was so happy when I received my money. I used some of my money to pay towards my health expenses. I also bought a bag of rice and some other food items.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I have been ill for a very long period of time. I needed to do surgery on my mouth but I did not have enough money to do so. Notwithstanding, I was very glad when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly. My children will be registered in school and I will also have enough money left to pay for my surgery. I am so elated to be part of this unique program that GD is carrying on. May God bless all those involved in transforming the life of my family and I.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
All along I have been trying to raise money for my surgery and also pay my children tuition. Things have been so though to the extend that I could not even afford daily meal for my family and I. However, when I received my transfer from GD, I was able to pay my three (3) children tuition and also do surgery on my mouth. Paying my children tuition and also getting a successful surgery done has been the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been trying to raise money to do surgery on my mouth. I also needed money to register my children in school for this academic year 2021/2022. In doing so, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I used $25,700LD to register my 3 children in school. I also used portion of my transfer to do my mouth surgery. I am so grateful for this unique opportunity provided me by GiveDirectly.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan for the money is to pay for my sugery(i have a growth underneath my chin that needs to be removed) and pay my children's (the ones that are still sitting home for lack of finance) school fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Iam so glad that GiveDirectly has finally reached my community today, i have been hearing of how GD supports families in other communities through their cash transfer and have been wishing for them to reach my community also and thank God they are finally here.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have a growth underneath my chin which gives me so much discomfort and i have been trying to raise money for my surgery yet to no avail, i also have my older children that are supposed to be in school but are home(in Monrovia) because i dont have the money i need to pay their school fees.
