Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I have never been happy in life like I was when I received my transfer. This is a blessing indeed. I have never had such an amount of money in life. I am grateful.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
With the transfer, I have managed to buy materials required to build a house. I am happy that I will have a nice day. I also managed to buy enough food for the year. I should say that I have managed to accomplish many things in a short time. I am sure, it was impossible for me to do so without the transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my transfer to buy 20 iron sheets, I bought 15000 bricks which costed about MK 130000. I also bought a blanket and mattress. I had no food in my house and I bought 3 bags of maize. I have saved part of the money to use it on my daily needs. I am focusing mainly on building a house. I am confident that I will.
