I want to build a very decent and spacious house for my family. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly I have also decided to establish a new (tailoring) business for my son to manage. I did not have enough money to build my house and at the same time buy sewing machine ($22,500LD) for my son to start his tailoring business. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I was able to accomplish two of my top priorities.I am so please to have benefited from this program.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has transformed many lives including mine in several different ways. For instance, I am able to send my children to school through their financial assistance. I am also able to roof my house with zinc. Moreover, with GD transfer, I have set up a new business that is providing an additional source of income. GiveDirectly is indeed a huge blessing to me and my family.

My house project along with the establishment of a tailoring business for my son to manage has been two of my biggest goals. Hence, I used portion of my transfer received from GiveDirectly to purchase sewing machine ($22,500LD) for the establishment of a tailoring business to be managed by my son. I also used portion of my transfer to buy 5 gallons of gasoline for $3,400LD. My balance transfer was used to feed workers saw plank to roof my house. How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have always wanted to build a comfortable house for me and my family. When I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 4 bundles of zinc and 5packs of nails to build my house. I also used portion of my money to buy 2 bags of rice (25kg) to feed the engineers that were building my house. I'm grateful for this financial assistance from GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own understanding, GiveDirectly treats everyone equally and fairly from selecting qualified household to benefit from the program to the direct method of distributing cash to poor people and letting them decide what to do with it. I am so thankful for such opportunity. GiveDirectly has done everything well so far.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 4 bundles of zinc ($33,600LD) for my new house. I also used part of my transfer to purchase two(2) bags of 25kg rice to feed workers who were doing the construction. Upon receiving my next transfer from GD, I will complete my house and move in with my entire family. I am so pleased to be a beneficiary of this grant from GiveDirectly that has changed my life for good.
