How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I want to build my own house because the house that I am living in right now is no more comfortable for my family, my husband and I are presently staying in a single room with our four children which is not okay at all. I also want to own a good business that will generate more profit, with that business, I know that my family will keep being supported even when GiveDirectly leaves our town.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by targeting us the extremely poor people around the world to help without any string attached to it, they are also kind in talking to us during the time of interview even though they are ones helping us, their processes in the program are also straight and fair to me. I don't have anything wrong to say about GiveDirectly, they are okay by me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to buy some building materials to fix the room that I am staying in right now, I also bought fertilizers for my farm so that my crops can grow well and have a better harvest this year, the balance amount was used to buy food for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"If I become successfully enrolled into this program, I have two major plans for the cash transfer:
The first and foremost plan is the build my own house. The reason why we have given that a priority is, where we stay is a family house. It belongs to our late father. I, my husband and our 4 children sleep in the same room because we have only a single room in the house. The space is small and the children are grown now to be in the same room with us. The second plan I have is to send my children to school.
The money we get from the farm we make and the fire coal we sell is insufficient to pay the tuition for the kids, as a result a this, some have to get enrolled while others stay and work with us on the farm. We will used portion of our transfer and make sure all of our children go to school."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"There is one moment that brought happiness to my life that I can remember. There was a day in the month of August that my household had not a single cup of rice to eat. We had no other means of getting food to eat that day and the children were hungry. My husband had gone to the farm but there weren't any hope of he returning with something for us to eat because there weren't any crops or produce left on the farm. Surprisingly, he returned with rice which a friend had given him as a bebt the friend owed him. We had something to eat later that day and I was so happy."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The major challenge I am faced with right now is finance.
The money we raise for the produce we get from the farm is mainly used to buy food to feed the family. Because of this financial challenge, we have been unable to send all of our children to school. The ones that are in higher classes were given preferences why those in lower classes got to be with us on the farm. This is not what we plan to do but had to be done due to the lack of finance."
