Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy that I did not dance or jump but I freezed
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Ever since I was born I have never slept on a matress or better still a bed. I was born whilst my parents were sleeping on the floor and up to the time I got the cash transfer I was still sleeping on the floor using mosquito net as a sleeping mat. With the coming in of the transfer, I was able to buy a bed and matress that I have been longing for so many years. Better still I managed to buy a good blanket which I cover myself during the nights. I also bought bedding for my children and I am really greatful for the cash gift
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought 10 bags of cement, bed and matress, 5 bags of maize and other household expenses like pots, clothes

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy and blessed to be selected to be part of this program. Receiving this money means my family and I can start to live comfortably. I have 10 children and fending for all of them has not been easy. This will help me buy beds for my children because all of them sleep on the floor and send them to school we will also have a lot left over to buy food on a daily.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I'm interacting with my family and eating fruits from our mango tree after a long day of work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is hunger. I have a huge family and I work small jobs to try and feed my family but sometimes we go without food
