What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a larger portion of the transfer to buy a cow. Bought a chair because the one I had wan't all that nice. Purchased corns for family consumption. I also purchased other household items with the rest of the money.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now enjoy my sleep because I managed to buy a new mattress since the one I had was too thin and uncomfortable. Currently my family has a reliable source of income from the motorcycle business which we(my spouse and I) purchased using the second transfer and as we speak, from the business(motorcycle transport business) my spouse has managed to buy building materials and soon we are going to establish our home.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GD does well is that it has absolutely improved the livelihood of the very poor in the community. I wish GD could continue supporting us for the next two years.

I spent my second transfer on buying a motorcycle at 80000 KES after topping up 30000 KES more.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I can afford a meal from my motorcycle since I have put it on bodaboda business. This is where one person uses my motorcycle and pay me everyday some amount of money which I use to buy food for my family members

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on a new mattress to replace the old one. I bought and split building poles which I will use to build when I receive the second transfer. I finally bought a bag of corn to ensure constant supply of food for my household.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was overjoyed when I received my money because I was really praying for it to come my way so that I sort out my needs.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy sand, cement, timber, round poles, nails and iron roofing sheets which I will use to build a better house for my family. I will then use the remaining funds to pay college fees for myself, I was training to be a teacher but dropped out of college due to lack of funds to pay college fees.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having planted sweet potatoes in my farm, when I harvested and sold the produce I was able to build my current house which is my pride and joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to pay college fees for a course in Early Childhood Education. I had to defer my studies because I lacked the required fees and this was really frustrating.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I go to the market to sell groceries like tomatoes. I usually meet different people and the atmosphere is usually very lively as customers and sellers interact with each other.
