What did you spend your third transfer on?
I have stayed with my spouse for several years since 2005 without paying her dowry because I didn't have a stable source of income. I used a larger portion of the third transfer on paying her dowry, I now feel like a real man. I bought a cow for rearing and I believe in future after it has given birth to calves I'll sell one of the calves to help me pay school for my child.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying 5 pieces of iron sheets 3500 KES since I am planning to build a decent house, as at the moment I am staying in a leaky old grassed thatched house which is almost collapsing. I bought decent men's suit clothing 4000 KES and food for my family's consumption 1000 KES. I also paid a debt that I had in a financial institution (Sacco).
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first, I felt very happy which was unexplainable and since then I believed GiveDirectly truly fulfills promises at they state to their beneficiaries through their GiveDirectly's staff who conduct surveys in our households as away of evaluating the poverty level in a respective households.
