How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have been able to boost my business which is the main source of income of the family. The maize selling helps in generating income to help in paying school fees for the children and also buying food for their consumption. I am so happy as my grandchildren can now get to stay in school and concentrate on their studies. That is how my life is currently different.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a new goal of saving and buying a sheep that I plan to use in my husband's funeral remembrance ceremony. I have always wanted to hold a remembrance ceremony for my husband and now is a perfect chance to do so as I have a flow of income that can cater to that.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I have been able to buy more maize stock to help restock my maize selling business. This will help boost the profit margin which in turn helps increase the income of the family. This is the main income-generating activity for the family and I cannot thank GiveDirectly enough for the help.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
At the end of the six months, I shall have bought the sheep for my husband's funeral remembrance. I also look forward to buying food that will feed the visitors who will come to the funeral remembrance mass.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I am a member of One Acre Fund, an organization that supplies us with quality farm inputs at a subsidized fee on credit. I was owing the organization a very huge debt which I could not pay due to financial instability, but most recently I was able to clear the whole amount which has allowed me to receive more benefits from the organization. I have also been able to buy a lighting solar lamp over the last four months which has given me a break from using kerosene lamps and buying costly kerosene daily.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a grandson in secondary school whom I have been paying his school fees. I wish to use the next few transfers to clear his school fees for the entire year so that he's not sent away from school for him to have ample time to concentrate on his studies.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My husband who was the breadwinner of my family passed away last year and left me with a huge responsibility of being the sole provider for my family. GD transfers have helped me get on my feet as I have been able to take care of my family without any difficulties. My business had collapsed at the period of the funeral and it was hard getting by in the last four months because I had debts and could barely put food on my family's table due to lack of income. In the last four months have managed to revive my business and even clear some debts that have accumulated over the past few months all thanks to GD transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I want to gradually boost my cereal business so that in the next six months, I can be totally financially stable to be able to care for my family. I am also planning to install electricity in my house once I am done paying my grandson's school fees so that I can offer electrical services in my village such as charging phones for more income.
