What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on purchasing a decent second table in my house and a bag of maize that we ate as a family . I also bought untensils and started a business selling fish in the neighborhood to get my daily income, I am glad that I nolonger depend on the odd jobs anymore.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used a portion of my second transfer on a sack of maize for consumption because I had not harvested from my farm due to famine, I bought decent clothes for my children and also bought school uniform and shoes. The remaining amount, I used to start a fish business which is my major source of income and no longer do casual jobs to earn minimal wages and spent some to pay school fees for my children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well ins sending us money directly to our Mpesa and also it is the recipients who makes their own decision on how to spend the money. I have not seen anything that GD did not do well.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I would not have received the transfer, I would not have started my own business but would still be doing menial jobs earning little income. Thank you GD for the transfers.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we are facing currently is that we have inadequate financial support so at times it becomes very difficult to maintain a healthy living standards.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is is the evening if have some food to put on the table for our supper together as a family after tough day.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money makes me feel so happy because I've never had a dream of getting free money that I will use to develop myself.
