How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The big difference I see in my life ever since I received this transfer is the improvement in the standards of living. I sleep well, I eat well and for sure I am generally happy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The degree of transparency in Give Directly. I have never seen an NGO that is trustworthy and transparent as Give Directly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer in buying a number of household items. I bought some chairs at 300,000/=, a bicycle at 200,000/=,. I also bought some bricks, cement, Iron sheets and timbers and all these items costed me 800,000/=. I am constructing a house and the balance is being spent in paying for labour.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest challenge has always been the inability to provide basic needs for my household members, being a woman with no man to lean on for support, this has always been a challenge for me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Given the poor standards of living, eating a good meal makes me happy. The day I take tea with sugar with my family leaves happy faces. Good health also makes my day, each day that goes and I am health makes it a happy day.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I feel like by receiving these transfers, GiveDirectly is helping me to solve my problems. I have a plan to renovate my house and construct a better pit latrine for my household, and also to improve my household's livelihood.
