Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is now different in that I have household items that weren't there before, and which were difficult to acquire without GiveDirectly. I am so grateful.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received the money, I felt so happy to see such an amount of money come to my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer was spent to pay a debt, then I bought household items like utensils, bed-sheets, mattress, blanket. The balance was spent on feeding.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house for my family. I have a grass thatched house which leaks because of scarcity of grass. This makes it hard to maintain.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the noon time when I am with my children. They make fun that keeps me laughing.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money. I do not have any income generating activity from which to raise money and yet there is need. Paying my children's school fees is a big charllage to me. I am a peasant who fully depends on agriculture so whatever I am able to harvest is what I devide so as to take care of all the aspects of the family. I sell part to raise money so that I am able to pay school fees and solve other household needs. This is the major cause of food shortage in my home.
