What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on buying a solar lamp at 17,000 KES, paid 6,000 KES school fee for my child in high school, am still have 25,000 KES which I'll use to mud-smear the walls of my house.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I now have a decent and spacious house, unlike before when I couldn't even manage erect a house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by by giving a non-refundable cash transfers hence we are not stressed on how to get the money back.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying all the building materials I will need for building my home outside my father in- laws compound as tradition demands. I am yet to commence on the building process in a weeks time.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is knowing that I will be living in my own home soon, this will give me peace of mind and freedom to undertake different activities without having to ask for permission.

I spent my first transfer to clear fee arrears for my daughter in secondary school. I am happy i do not have any arrears now.

I am planning to spend my upcoming tranafer to build a new house. My current house is leaking. I may also use part of the transfer to start a retail shop where i will be able to get some income and sustain my family.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I would like to use part of the money to build a new home since my house is in a very bad condition. Secondly I would wish to buy a cow to help me generate milk for preparing tea for my children and for sale. Finally l would like to use the remaining amount to open up a business to generate income to support my children.

My proudest achievement is that l have struggled through farming and taken my children to school.
