How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am very grateful to Give Directly because my children are now eating well because I can afford to buy balanced diet and enough food.They are also decent and neat because I bought them enough clothes.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly help uplifts our living standards from worse to better, those who did not have houses now have decent ones. We are able to pay school fees for our children without any difficulty.Personally I do not see what they are not doing well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used the money to buy iron sheets, building nails, steel door and building polls because I am planning to build a new house.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the money to buy one bag of maize, blankets, school uniform and food.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy because I had no money by then. My husband died in 2013 and left me in abject poverty. I was told by me fellow villagers who said that I would never get the money because the rest of the village members had received their cash last year.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am now able to buy enough food for my family. My kids do not have to school hungry. I am so proud of this matter.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is the death of my husband which left me a widow
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am resting
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Being in the program makes me feel happy. As a widower I don't have much but receiving this money will make me independent. I will be able to start my own business
