How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I managed to pay for my driving classes an I can now land a driving job easily. When this happens, I believe my family will live a better life i.e. my children will go to better schools and we will also afford healthier foods. I leased two pieces of land which I plan to use to expand my sugarcane farming. This is another source of income for my family. That is how much GiveDirectly has changed my life!
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has changed my life! Now I have a source of income for my family. I have a motorcycle which I repaired using the transfer I received. This helps in generating more income for my family. They are changing our lives in so many ways. You should see the development we have had in the village since we received the first transfers. I can not quite place a hand on anything that GiveDirectly does wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
It has been a struggle to acquire a driver's licence since I only depend on casual labour that earns so little income for my family's upkeep. I have spent the transfer on paying for my driver's licence. I also used part of it to repair my motorcycle which helps in generating income for my family's upkeep. I also hired a tractor to plough my farm and now we are ready to plant the sugarcane seeds. It is a turn around as I am practising large scale farming and my family's living standards will change as there will be more income and food for family consumption.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that I can now drive legally without fear of being arrested. My movement has also been made easier thanks to the new motorcycle. I save a lot on transport and it also acts as a source of income.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy because I had longed for a day that I will get money and attend a driving school. This was made possible thans to GD.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to pay my driving school fee to acquire a driving license. I have been driving tractors on the farm without a license yet I am on demand for my splendid work. I also bought a motorcycle to help me with my transport from home to the farm. The remaining amount I bought iron sheets to replace the old ones that used to leak whenever it rained.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means improvement in my living standards. I plan to buy iron sheets, timber and pay labor for building my house. I also plan to invest in sugar cane farming.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when practicing driving at our neighbors yard.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing currently is lack of money to invest in sugar cane farming since it is the main source of income. I have to work for my neighbors who pay me very little money that can not cater for my family needs like food and clothing.
