What did you spend your third transfer on?
I had a debt of 9000 KES from our local table banking group, so I spent part of my third transfer on repaying it. I also spent some on growing rice that is helping me sustain my family. I can say my living standards have improved and I have gained some respect among people in my village. When you are poor, nobody respects you, but I am happy GiveDirectly has helped me gain my respect back.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the larger part of my second transfer on building a decent three roomed house hence I am happy in my newly built house which I never knew I could live in my whole life since the house I was staying in was too tinny thus it could not accomodate the 12 members of my family.I bought ten tins of maize and clothes for my family. I also bought some food for my mother-in law since she was unfortunate to receive any of the transfers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have a decent three roomed house hence I am now happy in my newly built house which I never knew I could live in my whole life since the house I used to stay in before the transfer was too tinny and it could not accommodate the 12 members of my family comfortably.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
My children were walking bare footed and when I received my first transfer, I spent 3000 KES on their sandals. I spent the remaining 7000 KES on a sofa set. We never had a place to sit on and therefore we could't even invite friends and guests over to our place due to low self-esteem.
What are you planning to spend your upcoming transfer on?
I am having outstanding loan balance with one of the local banks and therefore I am planning to repay back the loan to regain a peaceful state of mind. Besides, my main house has an old roof and I will replace it. That is how I will spend my upcoming second transfer.
