What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy to be enrolled into this program as I know that I will benefit from the program as per reports from the nearer villages. As a household, we struggle to provide for ourselves as our main activity is farming. If we are not farming, we sell the trees within the compound as people come to buy for burning bricks. We sell for about MWK4000.00 kwacha which allows us to eat for about a week or two. I believe the money will allow us to expand this house so that it's enough for me and my family. The other will go towards mattress, beddings and other household items. I believe we will be secure in terms of food too for this coming period.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I do not travel around much in this village. My husband and children are always my closest companions whenever they are around at home, I get happy. Even the children too when they have enough food, they are happy and that makes my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I always struggle with teeth. Sometimes I experience much pain and in the end it affects our ability as a household to work and earn some income for the household. I go to the nearest health centre sometimes even though they have managed to pull out some teeth, I still struggle with them.
