How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been because I am very happy person to have received the help to support my family, ever since my spouse past away.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, givedirectly has done well giving us money to build houses and saved us from the burden of searching for roofing grass which is now scarce; and I don't see anything it hasn't done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy iron sheets, bricks, cement and timber so I can build an iron sheet roofed house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that I am now happy because the money helped me alot. I was able to help my children who were really in need. I also bought a bicycle that has simplified my mode of transport from home to fetch water and run other errands.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when I received the money. I felt so relieved and full of joy.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent 120,000 ugx to buy a mattress and a water tank worth 25,000 ugx. I also bought a bicycle worth 185,000 ugx and 600,000 ugx to buy household items. I gave 620,000 ugx to my three children to help themselves. The balance I spent it to buy food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This transfers will enable me buy a plot of land. I have no ownership of any land where my family can settle, so this is a good opportunity.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is afternoon while Iam chatting interesting stories with neighbours.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of enough food. My family relies on only bought food stuffs which is proving costly.
