Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My house had taken over 8 years at the beam level because I couldn't continue with the construction due to shortage of funds. However, having received money from GiveDirectly, I was in position to acquire all the needed irons and my house has successfully been roofed. Secondly, I hired a piece of land to boost my crop production since the two pieces we had couldn't produce enough yields to support my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My phone rang at around at around 5:40 am, upon checking it was a message from mobile money notifying me that I had receive money in my account. I became very happy to get such a large sum of money.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to acquire 55 pieces of iron sheets at UGX 1550,000, hired a piece of land at UGX 100,000 and paid off a debt at UGX 50,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to complete the construction of my house so that my property can be safe. Rats have created holes in the house and they really damage food including beddings. The chance of receiving this money will give me an opportunity to make my walls and floor concrete so that my house is safe.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the noon time when I have had a meal. I feel satisfied and strong enough to do other things.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to complete the construction of my house. As I speak, rats have created holes all over the house but I can not stop that because it needs some huge amount of money to renovate the house which I can not afford.
