What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the cash transfer to buy a dairy cow,I thought of buying cow because it is a long term investment that I could relay on for so long and it is also a source of income to my family. Fortunately it has started producing milk, that I am selling some to the community and some for my family consumption and making profit. Since the milk has started getting me some income, my family has never gone to bed hungry. We are able to at least meet our daily needs, as compared to before when I was depending on farming alone to sustain my family which sometimes I could not even get enough produce to sustain my family. I also spent the transfer build a kitchen. My children now has very comfortable place to spend their night since they were sleeping in my neighbor's house and I was not at peace because I was not sure the behaviours of the children they sleeping with. The remaining balance I spent to by some goats but fortunately I sold them when my daughter was joining secondary school, since I did not have enough money to pay her school fee. I am glad she has joined secondary school like other children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did a very well by dealing with people directly and not involving authorities since I we could not have gotten the money as it was said if they could have been involved.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have a stable reliable source of Income. I managed to buy a dairy cow and fortunately it has started producing milk. Of which l sell some milk in our local market and some for my family consumption. Since the milk has started getting me some income, my family has never gone to bed hungry. We are able to at least meet our daily needs. My children too now has a very comfortable place to spend their night as compared to before when they could walk a distance to the neighbour which was very risky and tiresome. I am also at peace because I know they are sleeping in a very secured place where do not need to worry of them being harmed. I am also glad because I have managed to admit my daughter in secondary schools and paid most of her first term school fee with ease.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
We purchased 10 pieces of iron sheet, poles and nails that we will use to construct a kitchen which will also serve as my children's bedroom.I then used the remaining amount to revive my grocery business which had collapsed months ago due to lack of money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was awaken by the text message which came at around 5 am and I could not get any more sleep from then because I was eagerly waiting for daylight so that I could go out test if the money was really in my account or if it was only a joke.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I now have my own business which will sustain my family whenever my husband is not able to provide for the family during hard times. I am also glad that my children will no longer go hungry.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of a stable job to get a stable income . I do casual jobs that often do not pay much. This makes it very difficult for me to provide for my children's needs fully like their food and even clothing.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am resting in my house after a hard days work.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money makes me so happy. I will use it to buy cows that I can milk, and sell the milk to the villagers. This I believe will be able to earn me extra money.
