How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My plan is to extend the porch of my house and fortunately I was able to received money from Givedirect assistance.
The porch is under construction and I want to say a big thank you to those who provided the money
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Since I was born, I have not received such an amount of money from any relative or any other person before.
But I was surprised to see that Givedirect came in our town and gave me money for myself to develop and grow myself.

I had plan to buy land but there was no money, then Givedirectly came and helped me to buy that land for my family and I.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On November 10, 2021 when I came from washing at the waterside, I heard that some people from our town had received money from GiveDirectly on their mobile accounts. I went to my uncle to check my account because I am not educated. When he checked the account, he told me that I have received my transfer from GiveDirectly as well. I felt so happy for the money because this money will settle so many things for me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I received this transfer from GiveDirectly, I know that I will build the house that I have been planning to build. I didn't had any money to make this plan work before but now I think all is well for me. I'm also relax in my pregnancy because I now have hope of taking care of my child well. The man that impregnated me has separated from me and he is not supporting me again, so I was really stress up but now I'm okay.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I want to build my own house with my transfer because the house I am living in right now belongs to my mother. I am pregnant right now and I want a more comfortable place to live in when I give birth. I will also use this money to buy some materials for my baby because I will soon be giving birth. Like I said before that this money is a blessing to me.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"The plan I have for the cash transfer is to build my own house here in the town. I have decided to build my own house because the house we currently occupy is not our own, it belongs to my mother. It feels embarrassing at my current age I am still living in my parent's house; worse of all with my family and in one room. My family is growing; I am expecting another child soon and we can not continue living in my parent's house."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"In the last 6 months, what has brought joy or happiness to my life was an event that happened last week Wednesday, October 6, 2021. My household had absolutely nothing to eat that day, The only money we had was $10.00LRD. Surprisingly, I got a call from my big brother that he has sent us $1500LRD by a motorcyclist from our town. I was to happy when I received the money. We were able to buy food and other items for the household."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" There are so many hardships I and my family are going through right now but finance is the greatest hardship. My family and I have not eaten since this morning. We were on our way to a nearby village where relatives are to ask them for food when GiveDirectly arrived in our town. Our children need to go to school but there isn't enough money for their tuition. My husband and I are not educated and the only thing we know how to do is burning wood or sticks into charcoal. The cash we get from selling the charcoal only feed us. My greatest hardship is finance."
