How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have desired to start livestock rearing but I didn't have the capital to accomplish the wish. Through the transfer, I was capable of starting that career. Also I was able purchase ox-plough which has enhance my farming by replacing the method of using hand to prepare my farm which was energy draining. This will assure me of more harvest. In addition, I was able to built a decent shelter for my children, they are no longer seeking shelter from my neighbour every night.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,Givedireclty did well for seeding me cash transfer which has enabled me to meet my heart desires. I was able to start livestock rearing and purchased ox-plough. I wish GiveDirecly could continue with this program to reach many people in need.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on purchase 30 iron sheets, building poles this was for the construction of a news house. I have desired to construct a separate house for my kids. Given that they were sleeping in my neighbour's house, and the owner wanted to throw them away owing to the fact that he is about to get married. I also bought ox-plough for $150 since I had earlier acquired the oxen but I didn't have enough money to purchase the plough. The remaining amount I bought enough food for the family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was exactly 8 in the evening when I had finished preparing supper for my family then my phone started ringing. Without wasting time, I decided to check what the notification was all about. Only to realized it was an Mpesa message from GiveDirectly, I felt so happy and we could not even sleep till dawn.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now a proud owner of two dairy cows. I will achieve most of my goals from the dairy cows, first I will be getting milk for my children and sell the remaining few liters to the local markets and to my neighbors as well. initially, it was so difficult for me to take milk since it was costly and very rare to get them since there were few people owning to dairy cows in my village because of poverty. To add to that, the money that I will be getting from the sale of milk will boost my standards of living because I am planning to start a business from the sale of the milk. This will be my additional income making me wealthier within a short period of time since both of these businesses are so lucrative.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first transfer on buying two dairy cows at a total of KES 42000. These have been the well thoughtful assets that I have been yearning to keep for a couple of years because they have numerous benefits. Also, I bought some iron sheets, nails, and timber purposely for the construction of a new house for my children. Previously, we used to share the same house which too small and at times they used to seek shelter at their friend's houses. With the reming amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I'm planning to use 450 dollars to buy three indegenous dairy cows at a cost of 150 dollars each. It has always been my desire to produce milk but due to poverty I have been unable to achieve this dream. The milk produced by these indegenous dairy cows will serve me in two ways; for domestic consumption and for sale to get income. This will be a boost on the nutritional standards of my family at the same time improved living standards due to the income generated from the sale of mik.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning. Waking up seeing my family healthy makes me happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is the lack of a sustainable source of income to sustain my family. I have been unable to fulfil the basic needs on my family such as food and clothing.
