Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new plan is to spend my next transfers to purchase hybrid maize seeds and fertilizers for planting. I believe when I got to plant maize I would not spend much next season when I got to harvest the crop and I am assured of food security.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the past four months, I have been able to spend my transfers to buy what we can't produce at home. I occasionally spend on items like cooking fat, baking flour and other consumable goods. Basically, this money has been helping me to meet my daily expenditure and we haven't lack what we needed.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I believe that I will be expecting to harvest maize. All throughout, I have always wanted to have enough maize to take us to the next season so that I would cut the coast of buying food and with the little money which I earn from the sale of farm produce I spend on items which are processed.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is curretly improved because of the money I receive. I have been able to produce maize and beans from my farm using the money to buy seeds, to buy fertilizer and to hire farm labor. As a result, I harvested quite a good amount this a year and I already have another crop established on the same farm for this short season.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I plan to use it on farming .I am too old to work my farm but I will be using the money to hire labour.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is in the way I access food. Currently, I use part of the transfers to buy foodstuffs for my family. As a result, I have not lacked food or miss any meal for the last four months. I am so happy and all these is because of GiveDirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in many ways. We have been able to meet the cost of basic household needs that was giving us a problem in the past. I used to engage in heavy casual labour that often left me tired because of my age and which gave us barely enough money to buy food. We have also reduced reliance on our children. I was well aware that my children had their own families to take care of and we often felt that we were being an extra burden to them. Since we got the transfers, we have been able to fend for ourselves and give them time to concentrate on their family's needs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have this problem of spending all the money as soon as I get. In the next four months, my desire is to save up most or all of my transfers to be able to buy a delight solar that we can use as a source of light. This will save us from the mess of having to struggle with the old fashioned source of light that we are now using and which is not good for our health either.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I am an ageing person and I can do very little of casual labour to raise any reasonable amount of income that can help us sustain ourselves. I have been struggling to do any form of casual labour just to raise this money so that we cannot sleep hungry as a family. In most times, I have not been able to raise enough to put food on the table for the family and we would always end up borrowing from our children who as well had other responsibilities of their families. When we got these transfers, I have given my children enough time to attend their own personal needs as the money I get from GiveDirectly is enough to sustain my wife and I. This has been the greatest difference in my life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Six months a go, I had to engage in hard casual work just to get that income that could sustain me and my family. This often left me very tired and exhausted. In most cases the money I got was barely enough to buy food and I ended up asking my children to support me. This, I did but I often felt that it was wrong. Upon receiving the transfers, I have been able to provide for my family comfortably and raise a happier family than it has been in the day before. I feel so proud as a parent about this.

Since i started receiving payments from Give Directly, I am just happy because i was able to buy maize and fertilizers for my farm without having to sell my cow as i had initially planned.
