How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My family has been in dire poverty all our lives, sometimes we did not afford basic necessities such as food, cooking oil, soap salt and clothes. In addition to that the house we lived in was in poor condition and would leak during rainy season. Today life has changed in my family because with the transfer i have bought enough food that can take us for the rest of the year, clothes and beddings for the whole family and other basic needs. In addition to that i have saved part of the transfer to be used for building a good house with iron sheets roof. Therefore my life and that of my whole family has greatly improved and we are all living a happy life
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Since i was born i never earned a huge chunk of money like what i have received from GiveDirectly and there was no hope that i would. What GiveDirectly has done in my life is unique and i fall short of words to express my gratetude. The staff members who have been coming here since the project started were all respectiful, approcheable and supportive. Therefore i declare from the bottom of my heart in everything GiveDirectly did well and it is difficult for me to single out any shortfall
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
In my life i have lived longing for a good house with iron sheets and a better life with all basic needs so when i received the transfer i used it to buy food, clothes as well as beddings for my whole family. In addition i have saved part of the money to be used to build a house soon
