Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to save money from casual jobs in the village to dry school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I paid school fees for my children. I depend on the usual jobs in the village to get money to buy food for family and also pay school fees for the children. I have four children in secondary school and to raise school fees for all of them was a big challenge. They could be sent home every time to collect school fees and this was affecting their performance. I am so happy because I was able to pay school fees and they were able to study without being sent home and this has improved their performance. I am so happy because I have peace of mind to do other chores at home.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to have changed in that I will have saved enough for my son who is yet to join college this year.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life is that I was able to pay school fees at once in lump sum unlike before when we would pay not even a half of the fee.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months I would expect to have bought another cow and took my other children to college.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently I have peace of mind as I have cleared school fees. My children have not been sent home for school fees.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My new goal is to buy a cow as I have only one cow. I do plan to add more cows in order to help me get milk for use and for sale.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced is not being able to provide sufficient food for my family.I have a very small piece of land and when I plant maize the harvest is not sufficient enough to feed my large family.Hence,i still have to buy more maize with the little money I earn
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when i have completed my work for the day.It makes me happy because this is the time I can rest and also have a little time to chat with my family and share the day's experiences
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend the tansfer in paying school fees.I have three children in Secondary School and one in Special school(deaf)
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is being able to educate two of my children through their Secondary education.Being a casual labourer,there is not much money one can earn from it.However,I have been able to save and pay my children's school fees with the little I get
