How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
In coming years I will be getting Saving from the cow that I planning to buy so that i will be able to pay school fees for my children and getting manure from it
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
People were living in poverty but now we have got everything we need like manure, food, clothes, etc. Everything that GD has done is good but if it possible they can give us other transfers but in addition to that we are so thankful and we are ready to use well the money that you have given us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I saved my money because I am planning to buy a cow and I bought different household goods like clothes, food from small amount of money that I have withdrawn

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was in the morning around 8:30 am, I was planting beans in our crop land. I was with my husband and we were so happy. We celebrated and we thought we are finally going to use the money as we planned.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
We are now a happy family before it was so hard for us to buy food at home but now things have changed differently. We started our business of livestock farming and we renovated our walls by cimenting them. Moreover, I bought food for my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Most of the money was spent on buying livestocks , we bought two goats and one pig . The total cost for it was 150k.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
In the first instalment, we plan to get a shop and start a business of selling beverage, which will help us generate income, and we also plan to buy food and other materials we need in our house. In the second instalment, we plan to save in livestock. We want to buy 3 goats for $150 and 2 pigs for $120 and the balance we will save it in Sacco( Saving and Credit Cooperative). Receiving this money means reaching our development, we will be able to have our own business, and the livestock will help us have fertiliser, and our children will have an education and a better life.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the past month, we have harvested 3 coffee bags, and we have sold them on a good price, which we did not expect, and this was a major accomplishment for us. We currently have received modern stove and I remember the first day i couldn't sleep without using it and checking it's functionality and the food was ready in a finger snap and I was very excited and up to now this stove is saving us a lot of time , and now we have access to electricity and our children are able to revise in the evening after school and they are able to do their homeworks which is improving their performance.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We are living far from the Road and its a challenge for us to be able to operate any business, we currently have banana plantation but we do not have a location where we can sell banana juice so it requires us to sell to other retailers and the profit we get is not as much as we could generate directly from customers. Currently, the season is not adequate for our crops. They are destroyed by heavy rain, and we will not be able to yield as it was before. And when we are not able to get money, we face some challenges in paying for our children's school fees and other school materials.
