How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The greatest difference in my life is that I am no longer worried about how I will cater for my family needs. I am always at peace and happy since I started the poultry farm. I now have two sources of income which helps me a lot in catering for my daily expenses. My side hustle has relieved me and I no longer get stressed because I don't strain myself anymore. Now I have enough money to invest in other family development projects. This in an assurance that the future is bright. We only need to be patient and work hard.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have a new goal at the moment. I am only planning to expand the poultry farm that I started recently using the first transfers I received from Give Directly. I am looking forward to living a better life in future. This will only happen when I expand my business and market my products. I am intending to buy more chicken so that I would have more eggs for sale. This will mean that I will have more income through the sale of these eggs. I will, in turn, spend the cash to purchase family necessities.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Since I started receiving transfers from Give Directly, I ventured into poultry farming. I felt this was the most viable business considering capital I had acquired with the help of the transfers I received from Give Directly. Now I got more than 30 chicken. In a day I collect approximately 10 eggs which translate to KES 130 a day. This income has really helped me to met my daily expenditure. Now we no longer miss some of the items which couldn't afford previously. This extra source of income has really changed my life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My main goal in the next six month is to add more chicken and expand the chicken house that I had built a few months ago. I believe I will be able to do all these through the help I am getting from Give Directly.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I do poultry keeping project as an economic activity. The project has been fully funded by the monthly transfers that I receive from GiveDirectly and it has been improving each month. I now have a total of 50 chicken and I plan to add more in the remaining months. This has greatly improved my family's standards of living as we get to sell some eggs to meet other family needs which we wouldn't have managed without the money we get from the sale of eggs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I will save my next transfer to buy a chain link to fence my compound. This will ensure that my poultry is kept away from predators and also do not stray to my neighbour's farm.

This was not the case before I started receiving the transfers.

In the next six months, I believe with the poultry farming I will be financially stable. Whit the money which I will be getting from this farming will enable me to meet my daily needs and accomplish other projects which I will plan to venture in future.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have a lot of hope to improve my life a lot. This poultry project has become an additional source of income. I have been able to build a nice poultry structure and is now running. I really look forward to visits from GiveDirectly to see what I have done! Please let our doors visit us to see how much they have changed our lives. I am especially impressed by what my neighbors have done, especially women. Women in my village initiated very visible life-changing projects including buying livestock that provides income to families. It is not only my life but also that of my friends whom we used to anquish together in poverty.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I aim to continue growing the number of chicken in my poultry project. I use a brooder to hatch eggs. The brooder is borrowed from a friend and hope that I buy my own. I also want to keep expanding the poultry house and enclose it using a wire mesh to stop my chicken from straying into peoples farms. Enclosing it will also protect it from predators. This is the aim I have for the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the ability to meet my family needs through egg production. As soon I started receiving this transfers, I build a modern poultry house and bought chicken. I have been using part of the monthly transfers to buy chicken feed and vaccines. My source of income was only my salary I get from teaching but now I also earn from the poultry project. This activity has given me a good regular and very reliable income as my chicken continuously lay eggs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will be having an extra income apart from my salary as a teacher. This will come from my vibrant poultry projeecet. I will be able to meeet my familie dailiy needs on time as I will mnot have to eait for my litle salary that only comes at the end of the month.
