What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer I constructed a semi-permanent house of 30 iron sheets. It is more spacious and therefore we are now able to live more comfortably than when we lived in a single room that denied us privacy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I live in a better house-one with proper ventilation, space and many rooms. Each and everyone of us within my household now has his/ her privacy. This is contrary to before when we lived in a single room where even changing clothes was a problem.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying a bag of maize 5000 KES and household expenditures 2600 KES.I also bought 6 pieces of cushion 2400 KES .
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the first transfer, I felt very happy and that's when I believed GiveDirectly truly fulfills its promises since before the transfer hadn't been sent , some of the community members where discouraging as that GiveDirectly is like other organisations which have worked in my community and given us false promises. I am thankful to GiveDirectly for keeping its word.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is hunger. It is very difficult to meet daily needs as we solely depend on farming that is not so promising due to unpredictable weather conditions.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when my children come home from school and show me their work which is usually encouraging.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means relieve from stress and suffering. I would like to construct a better house that is more spacious and modern. I would also like to use part of it to buy a cow for milk and pay fees for my children.
