GiveDirectly give me money without taking anything from me, I believe it's a good thing and I haven't seen it happen since I was born.

At age 48, I am still living in my brother-in-law house with my four children and I don't feel satisfy with such a living condition. When I received the money from GiveDirectly, I used almost all to buy building materials inorder to build a beautiful house for my children.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
RE: Yes i do have some new goals, that is to enroll my children in school, because i believe in the education of my children and i care about their future most importantly. My next plan is to build a house of my own, because at this moment am living in my in-law house. Therefore i can not live here for ever because we both are having children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
RE: Givedirectly is doing well for us here, with this transfer program am not worry about setting trap before i can eat anymore. Because i have enough food for the rainy season already.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
RE: I spend the most of my recent transfer on enrolling my children in school which was my greatest worry. The rest of the money i use it on my food, right now the hunger isn't easy here, because of the rain it's difficult to move around freely in such of food. Therefore food is also a big concern for us.

RE: I came outside to catch early morning breeze which is my normal routine, when i heard my neighbor shouting out to me that i should check my phone because he have received his givedirectly money. My brother checked and told me my money has come as well, i smile with joy and asked my brother to escort me to the cashout area.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I want to build my house if I received the cash transfer from GiveDirectly. I have not own a dwelling place for my family before. I have been living in my bigger sister's house with my four children before their mother passed away. Presently, I accommodate all.my children in a single room whenever they visit me. It becomes embarrassing when my In-Laws visit me at times. I have had the plan to build a house but my plan has not been supported by my financial strength because, I have no source of income. Using GiveDirectly transfer to build my own house will be one of my achievements that will benefit my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In April 2022, I generated 9,000 LRD from my farm seal . This was my recent time of joy because it solved some of my problems. I have a little farm that produces a maximum of 12,000 to 15,000 LRD within every six months period but, it stills challenging to meet up with most of my family's responsibilities. Better life dependants on finance and whenever I have finance to settle my family's obligations I feel excited at that moment.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Financial hardship is the current hardship I am facing. I don't have any formal education so it is difficult for me to generate money in a huge sum to undertake my house projects and even provide adequate family welfare. As we speak , all my four kids are staying with my other relatives because I don't have a dwelling place now to accommodate them.
