Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal over the next four months is to buy farm inputs. I will buy maize seeds and fertilizer and grow them. This is the main cropping season and I want to make sure that my neighbours do not leave me behind in the planting time. I also intend to buy some seats to improve my homestead.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Since I started receiving transfers, I am so relieved from extreme hard labor for small wages to provide for my life. I used to toil all day long, 7 days a week as long as a job was available. However, sometimes I would not find jobs. On such occasions, there was nothing for my family to eat. This is now different because even when I fail to secure some work, I can use the money from GiveDirectly for food. I am as less worried as I used to be every day of my life before this aid came.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have acquired more livestock. I will have bought more goats to rear. I know that in six months' time, they will have increased and this becomes a continuation of earnings from the investment of GiveDirectly transfers. I also expect to have improved my home. I will be doing much better than ever before.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have worked hard in my life to always see my family happy and getting all the necessities that is why I take my children to school to build a better future. I sold the livestock I had to meet my children school fees and I had been left with none. The biggest difference in my life in the last three months preceding my current transfer is the happiness and pride that the sheep I bought using part of my mont5hly transfer has brought to my life. I once again own an asset that with time will reproduce to add value that I had lost hope of getting again. I am so happy to see this sheep grows knowing that I am built good security for my basic needs any financial need arising in future life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Currently, I have improved in farming and I am expecting a higher yield hence in the next six month I see my self living a better life in that I will have enough food in our family from our farm meaning I will not be spending much again like now. I expect to have either gathered building materials or to have started building a modern house and this will be my happiness and good signs of better living standard in my family.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I am a relaxed woman since I no longer go for hard casual jobs like before when it was the main source of income. We had been doing well as family in farming when we had oxen till the time when our father fell sick forcing us to sell the oxen to meet his medical bills. We started falling now that we had nothing to help us in farming and the children school fees were overwhelming to us leading to our pieces of land being idle and also lack of food in our family and too much to spend on basic needs that could be produced again. I am currently happy that I actively make good use of our land and I see more food for my family and surpluses to sell to meet other needs.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I live in a mud wall house that is in good condition to shelter in given that my children education had been my priority, hence building a different house had to be forgone. In the next four months, I have a new goal in my life to build a modern house that will boost my self-esteem society and also allow me to have a better place to live in.
