Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that we collectively purchased a motorcycle that is earning daily income. Prevoiusly, we had no income generating activity. I am very delighted that GiveDirectly came to our rescue.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The money was sent late at night while I was asleep. I was woken up by the neighbours who were shouting with excitement. At that moment I became very happy because we had no food in the family.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1000000 on a motorcycle purchase and a bicycle worth UGX 125000. I bought beddings worth UG 20000. I bought utensils worth 70000. I gave my spouse UGX 100000 and my son UGX 50000. I bought posho flour worth UGX 65000 and the balance was spent on my medical treatment.
