Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that the transfer has enabled me to purchase adequate building materials, which include building poles, 22 pieces of iron sheets and paid for the cost of transporting these materials. I am now in the process of building a new house since the one I was previously living is in a bad state.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the transfer message early in the morning, and I was greatly overjoyed because my life would be completely changed through this transfer, as GiveDirectly had promised to impact our lives positively.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent a larger portion of the transfer on purchasing building materials which include iron sheets, building poles in order to construct a new decent house to shelter in. I also spent KES 18000 to purchase six goats. These are assets to me which upon reproducing, I will be having something to depend in case of a financial problem. I spent the remaining amount to purchase foodstuffs and other household expenses.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
A decent house is what receiving this money means to me, as at now am living in a tiny, leaking iron-roofed house which can fall anything. I will use my first transfer to construct a good one. Also, am planning to purchase three goats which I will sell at a profit when they multiply. These will change my life for the better.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Morning is the happiest part of my day, It gives me joy and hopes when I wake up healthy and fresh for the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
At the age of 83 years, I am still forced to do jobs in order to cater for my basic needs. Collecting firewood for sale is what I have known in my life and this activity is very cumbersome to me considering that, I am aged and less energetic. The arrival of GiveDirectly has brought great relief to me since I am hoping for a better life.
