How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My first, second and third money was used for Zinc, nails, sticks and plant to build a new house. I have not developed a new goal because I don't have any different money to complete the project. Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was on my farm working when I saw the mobile money alert in my phone. Immediately, I thrown my cutless down and ran to meet my wife at the kitchen to share the good news. The both of us danced and left the farm. We were over joyed for the level of help Givedirectly has done for us free . My plan has been to build new house to for my family to relocate in .Our current house is very old and can always leak when its rain . My wife and I have been planting rice and producing palm oil to sell inorder to start building. It has been a challenging process for us because we are to paid our children school fees and feed them regularly. I am very grateful to Givedirectly for the cash support . I believe that with this transfer, my plan to relocate my family from our current old house to a well constructed new house will come to pass.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the transfer are, my wife and I can now sleep sound in the morning without getting up from bed earlier, to go on the farm and get involve into hard labor to sustain the family. My wife is now preparing rich food for us to eat without any worry. Being successfully enrolled on Givedirectly program, I am now having hope of getting money to sustain my family. I really appreciate GiveDirectly for the support and I will used the transfer to build my dream house in this village.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used some of the transfer to buy 2bundles of Zinc to be kept in storage while I await the next transfer to start building. Secondly, I bought one comfortable 15inches mattress for our room because we have been sleeping on flat and old mattress in our room thus contributing to our children getting sick frequently. The rest of the money was used to paid our three children school fees. They had been out of school for the past two weeks because of school fees payment. I believe that with my transfer, my family and I suffering will soon be over.
