What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer to buy two cattle for rearing and to provide my family with milk and the remaining amount, I spent to buy food and clothes for my children.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I would not have received the transfer, my family would not be as healthy as we are now due to the fact we have a cow which provides my family with milk and also we no longer struggle like before to look for food because I have a business where I get enough income to support my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did in that, it changed the lives of recipients in our community through the transfers which enabled them to build houses and send their children to school. I have not seen anything that GD has not done well

I spent my second transfer on buying one bag of maize, some household items and two cows, I also payed school fees for my three children who are still in school, I also bought Iron sheet and polls that I used in building a new kitchen

I spent my first transfer on 9 iron sheets for 6,500 KES,to enable me put up a kitchen, and spent 3,000 KES on food items.

The moment I received my money I pausedand worshipped God because it was the first time in life I ever received a monetary gift and in large quantity.!

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Our first plan is to use part of the transfer to build a kitchen for cooking, that would also serve as a sleeping room for our children. Secondly, we intend to use another part of the transfer to buy three cows, that would provide us with milk for family use, as well as being an investment for future use by the family. Lastly, we plan to use for the the remaining amount to pay school fees for my children who are in primary and are yet to join high school.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest a chievement is that, through casual work, we have managed to build our own house though, we have not managed to build a kitchen where we can prepare meals and to act as sleeping room for our children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship in life is low source of income to pay school fees and take care of my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning when all my children are able to go to school without being sent home for school fees.
