Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
There is a big change in the house that I sleep now because I fixed a new metallic door and windows, plastered it and put a veranda. The house is looking beautiful and I feel happy. Before receiving the transfer the termites had destroyed the wooden door and windows in my house and I was just wondering how I would get money to buy better doors and windows but I thank GiveDirectly for the transfer that has enabled me do the renovation.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the mobile money message, I felt happy but I remained calm and slept till morning.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for purchasing a blanket, water drum, utensils, construction materials (doors, windows , 12 bags of cement, 2 trips of sand and 1000 bricks). I used these materials for renovating my house. I also spent this money to pay the builders

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will renovate my house that I currently sleep in. The house leaks when it rains and comes with a lot of inconvenience. The other part of the money, I will spend for paying school fees for my children who are still in school. I pay their school fees with the income I get from produce but that can not pay it all hence some times they are sent out of school due to non payment of fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day I in the noon time when I am seated with my children. I see them being very consyruuctive at home and that is the source of my happiness. Where they have not done well, I correct then in order to make ten better citizens.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face is poor accommodation. I sleep in a semi permanent house that has a leaky roof. To make matters worse, I share it with my children in it's small state. That makes privacy limited or not there at all. When it rains, I have to fold my blessings and stand in the position that is not leaking nd by the time I want to sleep, it is already morning.
