How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had it not for the transfers from GiveDirectly, I wouldn't have bought seats for the newly built house. We are currently unashamed of inviting visitors because we now have a place for them to sit on. I also record that our child have peaceful study time since we no longer fail to pay his school fees in time. I am very hopeful that he will pass in their exams, and they will be important. I also have a source of income from the sale of milk which came out of the cow that was bought. The milk is also food to my children hence I would not spend most of the money in procurement of milk for family use.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Honestly, GD does not do anything wrong. Actually all the good things are attributed to this organization. Giving us unconditional cash for our own use is something that we are all proud of.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the transfers on renting a land where we have been planting maize. The reason for doing so is because we own a small piece of land which was not enough for us as family. We also spent the rest of the amount in buying clothes, chicken and also other household goods.
