What does receiving this money mean to you?
Education for my children is my first priority and this I plan to achieve by settling some of the debts that have accumulated in the school. I will also invest in assets such as livestock that can be used later to meet any financial requirements for their education. Lastly, I will build a bigger house for my family because the one we live in now is too tiny for my family of eight members.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Evening is my happiest part of my day because I am able to rest after my daily duties engaging in different casual jobs such as washing people's clothes or fetching them water.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hurdle has been shortage of finances to support my children's education. One of the adverse cases was my second born daughter Hadija who completed primary but could not transition to secondary school for lack of fees. She later got pregnant and now has two children aged 4 and 2. Luckily, she got an opportunity to join secondary school last year but after one year we yet again were unable to pay for her fees. She is now in a hopeless state wondering if her thirst for education will ever be quenched.
