How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving my recent transfer, I never had a thought of building my own house. All my previous transfers were spent on family daily expenses. Now with my recent transfer my goal is to built a two bed room house for my son and I. With this goal, I used a portion of the money and bought two bundles of zinc. Moreover, I used some of the money and pay someone to cut sticks for the project.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly had done a great level of work. They have brought so much relieved and joyed to us as family. For this reason I will forever be grateful to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity. However, I have not seen anything wrong done by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving my recent transfer, with my desired to built my own house, I used a portion of the money and bought two bundles of zinc to built a two bed room house. Furthermore I used some of the money and pay someone to cut sticks for the construction. Finally, the remaining money will be spend on paying the contractors.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My plan was to build my own house for the betterment of my two kids, because the house I living in is own by my mother and many others family members live in the same house together with us. But unfortunately for me I been having a very poor income from my end, that never enable me meet out with my goal in time. Just want to exstand my appreciation to Give Directly for the kindness to was me, now as I speak right I for see my plan coming to reality bit by bit. My building project is ongoing as I speak. Almost all of my money was spend on building material.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is really doing very well for the people of River Cess County, they are doing everything humanly possible to improved and rebuild our brokers life.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was in the sick bush. I have been sick for a very long time and I have been founding way to get heal from my sickness but there have been no way out because I had no money. Before getting ill, I was also sleeping on a mat, I had no mattress to sleep on. I got sick seriously because of some of these reasons. Due to this reason when I receive my first transfer from GiveDirectly, I was very much happy and joyfully I began to sing songs and praises to God touching the hearts of strangers to help me through my situation. I was able to use portion of my first transfer to pay for my medical bills. The remaining portion of it, I used it to buy one mattress and food because I been without food during the time of my sickness.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have never used to be happy because I was sleeping on mat. When I was sick I didn't have money to pay for my medical bills but when I receive the transfer from Givedirectly I was able to pay my medical bills. I can now buy food for my house and we are eating regularly because of the transfer from Givedirectly. Right now the biggest difference in my life is that I am healthy again and GiveDirectly have provided me more food from the money sent to me through grant.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I receive my recent transfer from Givedirectly, I split it up into portions. I used the first portion of it to pay for my medications. The other portion I used it to buy one mattress because I been sleeping on a mat which made me to get sick seriously. The remaining portion of my transfer, I spend it on food because I been in of food when I was sick but there was no help from anywhere. I want to recover totally before I start any future development.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful on this program for the cash transfer, my plan is to build my house for my son and myself. The house I am living in with my mother is breaking down and some part of it is leaking. I will also use part of the money to sell children clothes and other things that will help improve the business and bring mor capital.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I feel very happy today seeing Givedirectly in my community, because my family and I have been praying to part of this program Receiving a phone and sim card from Givedirectly, today give me more joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge is lack of cash in getting food for myself and my baby. With the help of Givedirectly cash transfer, my suffering will be limited. The money will help to transform my life in good way. By getting food, building my house and starting a business that I will benefit from.
