My life currently is different from how it was in that I can afford to purchase three meals in a day. This was never the case. We survived on a single meal the entire. The remaining parts of the day we took tea. This was a hustle but we had to survive.

I am planning to finish paying the loan that I had acquired to purchase and install the solar system after which I will venture into livestock keeping

The biggest difference in my daily life is that we now use a solar panel to give light at night. This is an improvement from the kerosene lamps that we used before. The soot they produced was a hazard to our health. Besides that, I also get to save as I no longer have to buy kerosene instead I used the sun which is freely given to us.

I will have finished paying my loan and I will have bought a few livestock. This will make me a happy man having been taken from grass to grace thanks to GD.

Currently, I have a flow of money which makes it easy for us to meet the daily needs as a family. I have the building materials that I can now use to build a new house. I see a dream come true in my life which I never thought I would fulfil.

I have a new goal of saving and buying livestock for rearing for the financial security of my family.

I have been able to save and buy building materials i.e. iron sheets that I plan to use in building a new house. I have been living in my fathers compound and I would wish to move to my own home where my children can get space to build their own houses. I thank GiveDirectly so much for enabling me to save the funds towards this project.

I shall have bought enough materials and built the new house and my family will be proud to be living in a very spacious compound. I would have also bought the livestock for rearing for the financial security of the family. I expect to furnish the house by buying the furniture that I require to beautify my house too.

Secondly, I find peace in my family on financial matters. Before the transfers, I used to quarrel with my wife regularly on very many issues. This is because we had very little money to handle our issues and in most cases when we were budgeting, we would end up quarrelling because there was not enough in the house yet we had different priorities in the house. Ever since I started receiving the transfers, I have found peace because most of my needs have been handled and I am able to solve most of them in time.

My new goal in the next four months is to clear the solar system. I bought the solar system on hire purchase and I am still paying for it on monthly basis. I would want to clear the balance and start focussing my finances on other family demands such as school fees.

The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have a solar system in my home. I have always desired to have a solar system because I felt it was costly to buy kerosene every day. The smoke emitted from the use of kerosene too was not healthy for my children and yet they use it daily when studying at night. This is the reason why I tried to work hard to buy a solar system so as to keep my family healthy and to use the money on buying kerosene on daily basis on other family needs.

In the next six months, I would want to buy building materials such as iron sheets, timber and nails which I will use in building a house in my own home. I have become of age to have my own home hence I plan to start early so that I do not struggle when the time comes to move out.

My life is different because I have been able to acquire a new TV set and a new solar system that have always been an elusive dream but I have been able to acquire it right now. I will now be able to watch news and be updated with the current affairs happening in the country.

I am planning to use the money to repay my debts which have accumulated for quite sometime now. In= do not want to take so long before completing my debts.

I have been able to buy a new solar system that has been my dream for so many years but I was not able to buy it due to lack of finances. I use the solar system to provide light within the house which has seen me move away from using kerosene lamps. My kids will be studying even at night very comfortably as opposed to how they used to struggle in using the kerosene lamps.

Six months from now I think there will be a change because I will have an easy time in making financial plans such as building anew house for my family. I plan to build my new home away from the my fathers compound and make me live more comfortably.

I am planning to install solar lighting and take care of my family in terms of clothing and their well-being.

Currently there is ease in terms of income. Before I had to work extra hard to achieve targets in my household. Before this was a struggle.

In the next six months, my house will be good looking and well lighted. I also will have furniture in my household.
