Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
"One of our sisters died? and as tradition demands, we were on the mat. While on the mat, some community members started announcing that GiveDirectly has sent their money. My phone was on charge in Zleh Town only the sim card was with me. I quickly sent my son to get my phone. When he brought the phone, he put the sim card in the phone, my message came as well. Even though we were mourning the death of our sister I was beey happy. I was happy because just few minutes before we started receiving alert from GiveDirectly my children were thrown out of school because I had mot pay their fees. I am a widow and depend only on local farming to sustain tmu children and I. When it was confirmed that I got the money from GiveDirectly I asked for excuse and went to Zleh Town to cash out the money to enable me pay my children's school fees amd buy their uniform and other school materials. materials".
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
"This GiveDirectly money has brought a lot of relief to me. It helped me from being disgraced. As a widow, I was thinking on how to pay back debts I owed. Additionally, my children school fees was another problem. I could not resolve these problems; and GiveDirectly resolved these problems with ease. Now my children and I are happy and we thank God Almighty for GiveDirectly".
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
"This first transfer came as a coincidence. On the very day I got the money from GiveDirectly, my children were sent packing out of school. I used some of the money to pay my children's school fees, buy their uniform and lesson books. I used the remaining money to pay back money I credited".

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My husband died last year September 16, 2021, leaving me with many children and grandchildren. The house my deceased spouse built is not spacious to accommodate all of us. If I am qualified to receive the cash transfer, I will build a bigger house that will accommodate me and my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
August 24, 2022, was my birthday. On that fateful day, my children brought money for me as a birthday gift and cook a decent meal for me that day. This made me happy as a successful parent that I have children who care for me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
As a widow, I pay school fees for the many children have through farming. Since my husband died, being a single parent doesn't allow me to make a big farm anymore. With this, I am now challenged with the lack of cash to pay school fees for my kids.
