How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because am happy, this money enabled me to plaster our house and its looking beautiful. I have acquired some livestock. In case of any emergency I can sell my livestock and get money. Previously, I used to think a lot, life was a struggle with nothing to sell and no one to borrow from.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well to follow us up to find out how we have spent the transfers. This encourages people to spend their transfer well. They did not do well not to give some people money.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I gave my mother UGX 1,000,000 of my second transfer for buying livestock for me. I spent UGX 150,000 for treatment. I have saved UGX 70,000 and paid school of 100,000 and gave my aunt UGX 100,000. The balance I spent on clothes UGX 63,000, food of UGX 150,000.
