What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on buying two oxen which assist me in cultivate in cultivating hence I no longer practice labor exchange as I used .I bought a solar lamp .I also bought a bag of maize for my family's consumption and household expenditures as well.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying a sack of maize at 4,700 KES, a bed and a mattress at 7,800 KES, used 25,000 KES to pay dowry, bought 15 iron sheets which I'll add to the next transfer then set my own compound. I used the rest the cash on other house errands.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have my freedom to set my own compound as required by our traditions now that my dowry is paid hence am now legally married, unlike before when I couldn't set my own compound. Thanks to GiveDirectly.

I spent most of my transfer to buy one and a half sack of maize for my family's consumption. I also bought uniform and food for my children.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I'm currently facing is lack of school fees for my children and food insecurity due to inadequate rainfall.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is at night when I'm asleep and I don't think of my financial inadequacy.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I feel very happy and optimistic that one day I will live in a house that is made of iron sheet just like other people.
