How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had no new goals. I am a farmer. Things have been a bit difficult for us. I am a farmer. During harvest time, we take the produce to local markets for sale.Sometimes the money we generate from the sea is not much. My goal has been to build a new house for my family. Our house is small and not in a good condition. Have so many children. I was so excited when I started receiving money from GiveDirectly. Hopefully our lives will improve.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It satisfied me so much that all I can say is thanks and appreciation to them. I am so grateful that I got enrolled in this program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was happy when I received my payment. I used some of my money to buy zinc and pay towards my children tuition. I also used a little amount to buy a bag of rice. I used rest of the money to start a new business.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was a beautiful moment early that morning while I was still at my house. When I saw the text from GiveDirectly that I had received my transfer, I became very excited. Initially, I have been working very hard to earn enough money to buy few bags of cement. I wanted to put a concrete floor and also plaster my entire house. Additionally, I also wanted to set up a retail business that would serve as an additional source of income for me to cater to my family basic needs. Hopefully, with this grant from GD, I will accomplish my goal.
