What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on starting a business of selling assorted household goods. I have always longed for starting my very own business and move away from the odd jobs I used to do. GiveDirectly has made this a reality as even as we speak, I am in the market going on with the business.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent a portion of my second transfer on an additional sofa set to fully furnish my house which was initially a bit empty. I am so happy that I no longer have to rush to the neighbors to borrow their seats whenever I had visitors. Secondly, I purchased a bicycle to help me collect water from the lake. Previously, I fetched water manually from the distant lake which was a bit tiresome. Lastly, I invested in livestock farming which was the best way I could save a portion of the transfer for future use.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has worked so well in sending us transfers directly into our cell phones rather than involving third parties.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I never received this transfer, I would not have managed to acquire the seats that I currently possess. Similarly, livestock farming that I had admired for decades could not have been accomplished if I never received this transfer.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I never had basic needs like clothes and food but when I received my first transfer, things changed! I spent on enough clothes and food stuff-I can't go hungry anymore.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money from Give Directly, I felt very excited- I would dress up more decently and eat well.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship at the moment is my income. I do work for people for pay but this is also seasonal. At times there's is no work for a day but I still need to fend for my family. So its difficult for me to always provide my family's daily needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening as this is the time my family members are gathered together and we can have a family moment.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will come a long way in helping me improve my status. I will use it to expand my house and cement it,buy some food stuffs, buy descent clothes for my family and not these rags we are wearing in the name of clothes and start up a small business as well.
