Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so excited. So proud, and for I ran short of words. Something I never dreamt of.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I now have my own land with an agreement written under my true names. I sleep well, and above all, I am also now among the rich men in our community.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought land at 1,600,000/=. The remaining amount I had to purchase some construction materials such as iron sheets, nails, and building poles. I also bought a few household items such as a blanket and mattress

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I plan to secure a plot of land in Mbale District worth USD789 where I will build a house that will cost USD1052 for people and resettle there in order to leave the risky area of landslides which has always scared of dieing any time.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I felt happy when I got circumcised in December. I really felt that I had fulfilled the norm and reducing on the risk of contracting STIs.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Being an orphan I currently face a problem of poverty which doesn't allow us live because I am un able support my family as it is required for example we sometimes have one meal a day. We also struggle to get money for availing most basic needs hence living complicated life.
